This policy explains how to request changes or cancellation assistance for a reservation made through Flight Owings. The options for an individual ticket depend on the fare conditions, the reason for the request, and applicable consumer protections.
A voluntary decision not to travel is different from an airline cancelling or materially changing the journey. Ticket restrictions and any properly disclosed agency terms apply only to the extent permitted by law; they do not cancel a mandatory refund right.
1. Start with the booking details
Do not send card security codes or unrelated identity documents with a request. A sent message or unanswered call is not a cancellation confirmation. If departure is close, follow the airline's time limits and contact the appropriate provider directly for urgent operational instructions.
- Contact Flight Owings promptly using the phone number or email listed below. For bookings made elsewhere, contact the business that issued your ticket.
- Provide your booking reference, passenger name, travel dates, and the part of the itinerary you want reviewed.
- Explain whether you want a cancellation, new dates, an itinerary correction, a refund review, or information about credit options.
- Review the available action, any fare difference or separately disclosed fee, and the consequences for the remaining flights before authorizing a change.
- Keep the written confirmation of the action taken and any refund or credit information.
2. Voluntary cancellations
When you choose to cancel a flight that is operating as booked, the accepted fare conditions normally determine whether a refund, a residual value, or a future credit is available. A non-refundable fare may have limited voluntary options, but this label does not govern a separate legal right arising from a carrier disruption.
Before proceeding, ask which parts of the payment are being reviewed, what amount may be returned, whether a credit is an alternative, and whether a disclosed agency fee has separate conditions. Taxes and unused extras may have different treatment from the base fare.
3. Date, routing, and passenger changes
A change can involve a fare difference, a provider's permitted change charge, and any separately agreed agency service fee. A requested alternative must still be available when the exchange is completed; a quotation does not reserve the new fare indefinitely.
Name corrections are not the same as transferring a ticket to another person. Some tickets cannot be transferred, and corrections may need supporting information or carrier review. Do not purchase a replacement ticket on the assumption that a correction or cancellation has already been completed.
4. Cancellations or significant changes by an airline
A carrier-initiated cancellation or a qualifying significant change can create refund rights even for a non-refundable ticket. If a refund is due under applicable law, it cannot be made conditional on buying another ticket or accepting travel credit instead. The Refund Policy explains this distinction and identifies official passenger guidance.
Tell us whether you intend to accept the proposed alternative journey or seek the refund available to you. Review the consequences before accepting a rebooking, voucher, or other compensation. Keep the original itinerary and the carrier's notice so the affected travel can be identified.
5. Requests soon after purchase
A short period after purchase does not automatically make every agency booking freely cancellable. The U.S. airline 24-hour reservation or refund requirement does not itself apply to third-party travel-agency bookings. Any equivalent option available for a particular agency booking must be confirmed in its own terms.
Contact us as soon as you notice an error or decide not to travel. Ask whether ticket issuance has occurred, what the applicable deadline is, and what amount, if any, would be refundable. This policy does not advertise a blanket 24-hour free-cancellation guarantee.
6. No-shows, partial use, and linked flights
Missing the first flight, failing to cancel within an applicable deadline, or skipping part of a journey can affect later flights and the remaining value. Airline rules may cancel onward or return reservations after a no-show.
A partly used ticket is not necessarily refundable in proportion to the number of flights not taken. An exchange or refund may require a calculation under the ticket conditions and any applicable law. Review the whole itinerary before cancelling a single segment.
7. Service fees and optional purchases
Any Flight Owings service fee must be distinguished from airline charges and disclosed before authorization. Its amount and refund conditions must be explained for the specific service. There is no automatic permission in this policy to deduct an undisclosed handling or refund fee.
Baggage, seat selection, insurance if separately arranged, and other optional purchases can have different providers and conditions. A service described as non-refundable remains subject to any mandatory right applying to a service that was not provided. Request an itemized explanation rather than assuming every charge has the same treatment.
8. Credits, refunds, and following up
A credit or voucher is a future-use benefit, not a cash refund. Check the permitted traveler, expiration or use-by rules, route limitations, and any new fare difference. Where you have a right to money back, review that right before choosing a credit.
For a refund inquiry, retain the amount requested, the payment record, and the case or booking reference. The party responsible for returning the money depends on the transaction and applicable requirements. The Refund Policy explains payment responsibility and timing in more detail; a general supplier-processing explanation does not extend a legal deadline.
